9/7/2023 0 Comments July ReviewRyton Chorale acknowledges with grateful thanks, the work of conductor Nicholas Thorpe, who has ben with the choir on a temporary basis since the beginning of the year. He leaves, having conducted two successful concerts, the most recent one having been on July 8th in St Mary’s Church, Tickhill with Retford U3A Recorder Ensemble and Friends providing beautiful music to enhance the programme.
In September the choir will welcome the newly appointed Musical Director, who is Sierra Farquhar-Wullf. She will be starting rehearsals for Verdi’s Requiem. This dramatic choral work will be performed in Southwell Minster on Saturday November 18th. The choir will join Burton Joyce Choral Society and Southwell Choral Society to form a massed choir of 200 voices accompanied by the Nottingham Symphony Orchestra. Tickets will go on sale in September. The Chorale will be very happy to welcome new singers who would like to be part of this performance, when rehearsals begin at 7.30pm on September 4th at Holy Family School, Netherton Road, Worksop S80 2SF.
